What is the Jubilee Academy? How does it work?
The Jubilee Academy online home school program is an independent Christian home school resource center for preKindergarten through twelfth grade home schoolers. We deliver our instructional materials via the Internet. Our engaging Christian home school curriculum includes eBooks, textbooks, workbooks CD-ROMs, and so much more.
When does home school registration for the academic year begin?
We are now accepting applications for the 2006-2007 home schooling year.
Can my child select home school courses from different grade levels?
Yes. For instance, it would be entirely appropriate for a 7th grade home school student to take 6th grade Science and 8th grade English, depending on the student’s performance levels in each course.
How many instruction days and hours does The Jubilee Home School Program offer?
The Jubilee Academy online home school program allows for 300 days of 24/7 access. There are 180 “days” of instruction included. We encourage our home schoolers to check their local home schooling law to make sure they comply.
We’re in a different time zone! How will this work?
Many of our home schoolers are located in other time zones! Our Christian online home schooling curriculum is available 24/7. Your students can access our online home schooling courses any time. Parents with questions may contact Jubilee Academy staff through the parent message board or they may call Member Services, 1.866.582-2223, Monday through Friday 9 am to 7 pm EST, Saturday 9 am to 5 pm EST.
What is a Bible-based home school curriculum?
The Jubilee Academy Home School Program provides Christian home school curriculum materials that are founded on Christian principles. We believe that an education is incomplete without infusing each and every subject with the truth of God’s existence. History is a chronicle of God’s relationship with mankind. Math is a discussion of the orderliness of His Creation.
I know about a "co-op" activity in my neighborhood. Can my child attend and get credit?
Christian home school are free to attend any outside activities. Co-ops are a great way to get Christian home schoolers together to socialize with other home schoolers. Any educational activities that your home school student completes can be recorded in your Joy Directed Activities folder. Whether this is a trip to a museum or visiting a local dairy farm, you can feel free to count it towards your online home education.

How do home school tests and quizzes work?
The Jubilee Academy online home school exists to help parents gauge the progress of their students. We provide many different kinds of testing material that ranges from simple multiple choice questions to free response essays to long-term research projects. Many of our Christian home school lessons are automatically graded by our software. Others need to be reviewed by homes chool parents. We provide home school parents with answer keys for all assignments parents are expected to grade other than essay-type questions.
What is Home School Study Hall?
The Jubilee Academy Study Hall allows home school students to receive credit for time they spend working on schoolwork away from the computer. This way, Christian home schoolers can keep track of how much time the work. This gives home school parents a good metric where they otherwise not be able to regulate their student’s school time.
What subjects (courses, classes) are available?
The Jubilee Academy Home School Program offers over 140 Christian home school courses in Pre K-12, including the core courses of Science, Language Arts, History and Math. We also offer a variety of electives that also reinforce a Christian home school worldview.
How much time should my home school student spend online every day?
We suggest that home schoolers spend at least 2-4 hours per day in middle and high school and about half that time in elementary school. The remainder of the home school child’s school day is spent completing offline coursework. The ultimate amount of time spent is up to the home school parent.
Is there a time limit on completing a home school course or assignment?
The Jubilee Academy home school allows students to complete their Christian home school coursework at their own pace. This means that home school students who have difficulty grasping concepts are given all the time they need to ensure they understand the material. Similarly , home school students who are more accelerated learners are able to move ahead without being pulled down by the status quo. We offer a summer extension program for an additional fee for home school students who need extra time to complete their courses.
Who writes the home school lesson plans?
The Jubilee Academy Christian home school curriculum developers are hard at work each day maintaining and updating our vast online home school curriculum to make sure all of our home school materials are up to date. Our home school curriculum developers are subject matter experts and love creating quality Christian home school curriculum for home school students.
How long will it take to enroll my child?
It only takes a few minutes to complete the home school enrollment process online! All you have to do is input your information and make your payments. If your home schooler is in high school or middle school, you will need to select some online courses. We will ship you your offline home schooling course materials within 2-4 days.
Are there home school assignments that are not completed on the computer?
Yes! The Jubilee Academy online home school system provides you with lots of offline home schooling materials to add a little variety to your Christian home school curriculum. We provide textbooks, storybooks, worksheets, CD’s, and a variety of other home school materials to keep your home school children active away from the computer screen.
What are the details of this flexible schedule?
The Jubilee Academy home school program allows students to follow a suggested schedule that lasts from September to June (we offer an optional summer extension program for an additional fee). If your home schooler wants to work ahead or needs a few days to catch up on missed work, that’s fine! As long as the home schooler has all of his or her work complete by the end of the home school year, that’s all that matters! Take advantage of this flexible online home school schedule with traveling, odd working hours, and other opportunities. Our Christian home school curriculum is available 24/7, so you can access your courses any time.
What are the dates that The Jubilee Academy follows?
The 2007-2008 learning year begins on September 10, 2007 and ends on June 30, 2008. We offer an optional Summer Extension program that can be used by home schoolers enrolled late in the year.
At what age can my child start?
Because all Christian home school children are different, it can be difficult to pinpoint a good age at which your children are ready to start online home schooling. The Jubilee Academy online home education program leaves this decision up to the parent. You may enroll your online home schooler at any age. The suggested age for Kindergarten is 5. If you find that your online home school student can handle more or less coursework, you have a thirty day trial period during which you can substitute courses at a higher or lower grade level.
Home schoolers over the age of 18 are not permitted to enroll in The Jubilee Academy online home school program.
When is home school course selection for 6th-12th grade?
K- 5 home schoolers do not have to choose their courses. Middle and high school home schoolers however, can choose their online home school courses during the enrollment process.
We suggest that home schoolers enrolled in The Jubilee Academy online home school program complete their coursework within the given 10 month period between September and June. Other than that, your home schooler’s schedule is entirely up to you. Our home school philosophy is as follows: Any time, anywhere, anypace.
